5 Fatal Stabbings Every Week

Filed under: Personal Alarms — admin @ 3:56 pm

New figures published today on knife crime seems to make a mockery of the new Government crackdown initiative campaign on knife crime in urban areas. The report makes for grim reading as it highlights that there are 5 deaths each week relating to knife crime in England and Wales. North of the Border doesn’t fare any better with Scotland having 1 person knifed to death every week in 2008. The report also hightlights that there have been 19 more deaths this year, even with the new Government knife crime iniative in place than in 2007.

Most violent places to live in the UK, where a person is 4 times more likely to be stabbed to death are Glasgow, Manchester, Vauxhall, Southwark, Bermondsey and Streatham in South London. If you are concerned about the continual rise of violent crime in your area then you can help do something about it by protectiong yourself or your children with personal alarms. They are small and unobtrusive devices that you can buy for under £10.00 and they belt out a shrieking 130 decibels, giving the person time to flee from the situation.
