Studying To Keep Our Children Safe

Filed under: Fire Safety — admin @ 8:21 am

When it comes to protecting our kids, we try to give them all the worldly advice and wisdom that we have accumulated throughout the years, however, like most parental discussions, it often goes in one ear and out the other. In just a few weeks time, thousands of our nation’s children will be leaving the family home for the first time and heading off to University and College campuses.

Without doubt, this is a time for mixed emotions and excited nervousness as parents up and down the land, watch their children take their first steps towards adulthood and learning the basic tools required for future career opportunities.

On the flip side, Universities and Colleges are renowned for their party nights, social evenings and late night study classes. Which can often have most parents worrying that their children are taking care of themselves.

“Study Nights” can quickly descend into “a late night students party” – no surprise there then – and we all know, that cooking when drunk is never a good recipe (half of accidental house fires are caused by cooking), nor is smoking in small, confined quarters. Here at Crime Protection Products, we have a range of fire safety products that will help alert your child should a fire accidentally break out.

Beat The Thief With Dummy Cameras

Filed under: Dummy Cameras — admin @ 8:35 am

When it comes to personal protection and home security, people can’t afford to take the “It will never happen to me” attitude, although many of us still do.

However, this doesn’t mean we have to go out and spend hundreds even thousands of pounds on the latest home alarms, driveway alarms or security lights to make sure we sleep safe at night. Crime Prevention Products understand that due to other financial commitments, home owners often find that their money is all but spoken for and therefore the home security system we wanted to install/upgrade is once again put on hold.

Be At Home Even When Your Not

Filed under: Home Security — admin @ 3:13 pm

With the Autumn/Winter months approaching faster than we would hope, we have to make the most out of every remaining warm day we have left. Often this means that barbecues, garden parties and even days away with family and friends are all planned at the very last moment as we try to squeeze every last drop of summer fun into our lives.

One of the main problems about leaving your home unoccupied is that the sun goes down under the horizon earlier and earlier, it leaves it us vulnerable to unwelcomed guests. Thieves and burglars, unfortunately, don’t like to take days off and love nothing better than walking round looking for homes with no signs of life and poor home security. If you want to spend time with your family on a day out then one of the best ways to fool thieves is to make them think that your home even when your not.

Outside lights and even lights left on a timer are great, but unfortunately a bit predictable now. Crime Prevention Products are pleased to be able to offer people the Fake TV, this simple device which runs of it’s own timer will give the illusion that your home watching your favourite soap or documentary. Keeping prowlers and burglars at bay with a flickering glow while you and your family enjoy yourself late into the summer nights.

Give a Heart an Alarm

Filed under: Personal Alarms — admin @ 7:53 am

In September, many young women will be looking forward to going to College or University. Moving out of the family home, making new friends and not forgetting the social evenings, can all prove to be a bit overwhelming for some. While others will relish in all the attention as late evenings and constant partying helps them forget the pressures of exams.

When it comes to personal protection, a high number of young women will take on the attitude “It will never happen to me!” However, as we all know, this is drastically the wrong attitude to take but try explaining that to a headstrong young woman. If you offer them a rape alarm or personal attack alarm they’ll probably take it but some will never carry it with them, spouting things like, “It’s not fashionable” or bury the alarm at the bottom of their handbag.

To combat this, have a look at the Heart Keyring Personal Alarm, this personal alarm looks like a fashionable accessory, however, it’s practicable as well, as it sounds out an ear piercing 128db which will help alert others in times of need. Now, there can be no excuses between looking stylish and keeping safe.

Distant Protection

Filed under: Burglar Alarms — admin @ 10:22 am

How many people, through the years, have had enough of the daily toil of working for someone else and decided that enough is enough and now is the right time to start their own business. You have the idea, you even know where you are going to get the materials, heck you even have a business plan, now all you need is premises. With office and factory space, in some towns and cities, becoming extremely costly, some entrepreneurs are having to look a bit further than they originally hoped, and are renting empty farm outhouses and sheds.

Renting these types of premises may work out cheaper but their remote position may cause you some distress. How can you tell that someone is approaching after all many farm roads have a long drive. The Professional Long Range Perimeter Alarm with up to 1Km Range new from Crime Prevention Products will ensure that you are always aware that someone is approaching your work place.

Running On Alarm Power

Filed under: Garden Security — admin @ 12:38 pm

How many people up-and-down the country have recently purchased garages, sheds or even an extra outhouse? Then filled them with expensive items such as power tools, golf clubs, lawnmowers, heck even the family car, if there’s room. Now, how many of us have electricity wired up to their new garage, shed or outbuilding? Not many, I bet. Of course there are instances when hooking up your shed to the national grid is just not required – mostly, though, it’s the expense which puts us off the idea.

If you fall within the group of people (probably, the majority) that don’t have electricity running to your garage, shed or outbuilding, yet still need to fill it with expensive items and are worried about security then here at Crime Prevention Products we have just the product for you. The Yale Wireless Burglar Alarm Including External Siren is the perfect answer for the more remote location where power is not available, for example vulnerable farm buildings with expensive machinery or stock contents, remote houses or buildings, boat yards, Stable tack Rooms and even Containers which are used to hold valuable equipment.

What Price Do You Put On Your Home Security

Filed under: Home Security — admin @ 9:49 am

When we mention the word security we automatically conjure up images of bulking six foot plus men dressed in black suits keeping the crowd away from celebrities or shadowing big name political leaders. In reality, security can be defined as a measure that is undertaken to counteract the actions of people attempting to cause destruction or theft.

We like to think that one of the safest places we know is within our own four walls. No matter what is going on outside, we can block it out by closing the windows, locking the doors and like a medieval walled city gates we’ll feel safe inside.

However, from the beginning of time there have been people which have taken possessions that didn’t belong to them, as far back as the pre-dynastic Egyptian tomb raiders. In modern times, things may have changed some but are they really any better when we think of protecting our possessions – we still have people who are only too happy to take full advantage of an open window or an unlocked door – even more so now as the ordinary modern family acquire more material possessions than ever before.
