Early Detection Alarms

Filed under: Burglar Alarms — admin @ 10:07 am

As we already know the better prepared we are, the better we adapt to handling a particular situation. The same can be said when it comes to your home or businesses security. We all know that thieves have no preferred ‘working’ times, they will operate during the day as well as at night – no 9 till 5 for them. That’s why it’s better being prepared for any given situation happening at any time of the day, as this will give you the upper hand and allowing you to take the required actions.

Home alarms are great at warning you that someone has entered your premises, however, what if you are already in your premises working or sitting watching your television, wouldn’t you want to know as soon as possible that someone is approaching. Early detection alarms such as Driveway alarms are a great way of alerting you that someone is approaching your property but if you have a large driveway this can sometimes be a bit of a problem as some have a limited range.

New to Crime Prevention Products is the Ranch Wireless Driveway Alarm which has a massive 300 metre range ensuring that even the largest of approaches can be protected. It’s Alert Bleeper will sound for about 5 seconds every time the sensor picks up movement – making you aware of arrivals and deliveries etc.. you can even set the Alert Bleeper to only respond during the day or during the night or both – so if you do have an unwelcome prowler you can clock them no matter what time of the day it happens to be.

Fake TV Security

Filed under: Home Security — admin @ 9:48 am

Residents and home owners are always looking for home security products that will give them the edge over burglars and opportunistic thieves. Home alarms are great at warning neighbours that something is wrong, however, if an alarm is faulty or constantly goes off because it may be set too sensitively then I’m afraid your good neighbours may tend to get more annoyed rather than concerned and choose to ignore your alarms cry for help.

It has been proven that “opportunistic thieves” will not attempt to enter your property if there is any slight chance of them being discovered – where a burglar will attempt to get into your home even if there is higher elements of risk involved – placing deterrants in and around your property is a wise move to help protect your valuables – the harder you make it, then the less likely it is to happen.

One of the best ways to keep unwelcomed visitors out of your property is to fool them into thinking that you’re still in and watching your television even when your out. The Fake TV is a small lamp that creates the illusion of a television light in your room. This unit is also supplied with a timer so you can set it to come on and off creating the perfect illusion therefore giving the impression that your still at home and making your home less of an easy target for a break-in.

Don’t Let Temporary Workers Give Away Your Money

Filed under: Counterfeit Detection — admin @ 1:19 pm

With the summer season arriving many small businesses such as shops, cafés and kiosks rely on employing temporary workers to help out throughout the busy season. Normally, it is an amicable relationship as the business copes with the extra trade without having to take someone on full time and the worker gets to earn some extra income. However, with all temporary employees it can sometimes create it’s own problems – such as them not being able to spot counterfeit money.

Crime gangs love to operate in the summertime exploiting young workers lack of experience and passing ‘fake’ money over the counter and receiving something for nothing.

This year don’t be taken for a fool check all the money that passes through your shop/kiosk. Train your staff well on how to notice counterfeit money and also what to do when they notice a note id a forgery.

Some of the best anti-fraud money detectors are:

Filed under: Travel Security — admin @ 12:42 pm

After working all year, a large section of the UK’s population will be thinking about packing their bags and heading off on their annual holidays. Getting ready for your holidays is always an exciting time, sure we deliberate and argue about what clothes are going to fit into our cases, swim shorts or “speedos” for the more adventurous amongst us. These are the small things that contribute to the excitement in the run-up to your holiday. However, this year when your packing your suncreams, antiseptic sprays and plasters give a serious thought to some Carbon Monoxide Detector Patches.

In recent years a number of holiday makers have fallen victim to this silent killer. No matter where your resting your head once you reach your destination, be it in a hotel room, holiday home or caravan be aware that “levels of carbon monoxide produced by faulty, poorly maintained or poorly ventilated fossil fuel appliances can build up very quickly to levels that can kill.” That statement was from Professor Qutub Syed who is from the Health Protection Agency.

Carbon Monoxide poisoning can produce symptoms similar to flu or food poisoning, including headaches and tiredness. So, for a few pounds protect you family and make room in that suitcase of yours for this life saving travel aid.

Fooling the Thief

Filed under: Home Security — admin @ 10:29 am

In times of economic hardship, people try their best to tighten their spending belts, obviously, this is a hard task as then they are faced with the choice of what is essential and what is non-essential. One area which is at the top of everyone’s list of things to do is home security, however, for the majority, they always manage to divert the money elsewhere saying “we’ll do it next year”.

Home security is one of those areas which people unfortunately see as non-essential, well, until that one fateful day or night when they return home or even worse walk down the stairs and realise that someone has invaded your personal space. It’s only then, most often-than-not, that reality settles in and most people begin to consider that home security is an essential part of modern living.

Filed under: Home Security — admin @ 3:21 pm

Let’s face it at this time of year opportunistic thieves will do anything to try get something for nothing and that might include them walking straight-up your garden path to see what security measures you have installed within your premises. At this time of year many thieves will be targeting people’s garages and sheds knowing full well that these outbuildings have the least security fitted.
